CLICK-Underlay for more comfort
- Our CLICK-Underlay offers increased comfort underfoot and improves the impact sound installation values of the flooring. Impact sound installation value reduction: 15 dB – in connection with our CLICK-system.
- Minor subfloor irregularities can be compensated.
- Joints of maximum 5 mm width and 2 mm depth can be bridged on tiled floors.
- Thanks to its adhesive surface the underlay offers heightened installation safety as it supports the interlocking CLICK-system.
- Ideally suited to warm water underfloor heating – thermal resistance: 0,01 m² K/W
General
The VOB Part C DIN 18365 „Flooring Work“ provides the basis for the execution of flooring work and the laying of flooring, including our CLICK-Underlay. Before carrying out the flooring work an evaluation of the subfloor in according with DIN 18365 “Flooring Work” is necessary.
As design floorings are vapour-proof floor coverings, residual moisture in the subfloor is particularly significant. It is to be demonstrated that appropriate measurements have been taken. Before choosing the appropriate floor covering it is always necessary to know the on-site type of use and kind of existing subfloor in order to choose the right and proper flooring. The subfloor must be solid, even, clear, sufficiently dry, free of dust and cracks and sufficiently load-bearing. Textile subfloors are unsuitable and should be removed. With existing underfloor heating there should be an appropriate heating protocol to ensure the subfloor is ready for the installation of the flooring, in according with the current interface coordination for panel heating and panel cooling systems. The floor covering must adapt to the room temperature before laying. This requires at least 24 hours acclimation.
Please take care that the underlay is not squeezed and the selvedges are not damaged.
Installation
For installation the room air temperature must not be less than 18° C and the temperature of the subfloor not less than 15° C. The relative humidity should not exceed 75%. With underfloor heating floor temperatures of between 18° C and 22° C are to be observed. The individual lengths of the CLICK-Underlay are to be laid out edge to edge, film side up an at 90° to the orientation of the CLICK-flooring. The underlay may be cut using a commercial quality utility knife.
When laying the CLICK-flooring, remove the film by degrees as the installation of the flooring progresses (removing the film from the entire area oat once is not recommended). It is not necessary to attach the underlay to the subfloor, neither is it necessary to attach the individual lengths of underlay to one another. Under no circumstances should the CLICK-Underlay be covered with a levelling compound.
Please take note of our CLICK Laying Instructions.
